What is Asthma?
Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties.

Side Effects

Talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you feel your heart is beating faster or stronger than usual (palpitations). This is usually harmless, and usually stops after you have used the medicine for a while. You may feel your heartbeat is uneven or it gives an extra beat, these may affect up to 1 in 10 people.
Tell your doctor if you have any of the following side effects which may also happen with this medicine:

This medicine is also available in a children’s Ventolin inhaler and works by relaxing the bronchial muscles and increasing airflow to the lungs. It is only available on prescription.
The current prescription of Salbutamol Ventolin sales is an ‘aspirin’ product which means that a pharmacist will prescribe the lowest possible dose (usually one half of the prescribed effective dose) for the shortest possible time. What is Salbutamol?

Ventolin Side Effects
Like all medications, Salbutamol Ventolin can cause side effects. These can include chest pain, upset stomach, shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking Ventolin and contact your doctor immediately.
These side effects are rare but can be a warning sign of something else. You should not take Ventolin if you have asthma, a heart condition and/or a high blood pressure. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and should not be given to children under the age of 10.
Salbutamol Ventolin should not be used in children under the age of 10. It is not known if it is safe for children under the age of 10.
